Is it wrong that I won't lie to my kids about Santa, the Easter Bunny or the ToothFairy? I just don't see the point in teaching them that these imaginary things exist. I mean I will teach them about them so that they don't hurt other kids but I just don't see why I should lie and tell them they exist when they don't. Besides it's mommy and daddy who works hard to buy you gifts why should some pedo in a red suit get all of the credit.

I feel like these fictional characters contribute to children's imagination. Sometimes you need to stop answering their questions to let them think of an answer even if it's the completely wrong one

My parents did this, I always thought of Santa and the Easter bunny as just fun fictional characters. It never made any of the holidays less exciting or fun, plus I never had to have the disappointment of learning they were fake.

Whatever you like. I honestly loved it growing up, it made me have a huge imagination. I feel like it's nice to just let them be kids, and they'll eventually grow out of it in their own.

You do realize that Saint Nicholas (real person) was "Santa" and gave toys to children back in the day. That is where the idea comes from. It's not a completely made up thing.

I plan on telling my children that santa, the Easter bunny, etc are really just characters like Mickey Mouse. I don't see the point in lying to them, holidays will still be fun without them!

It is not wrong but it teaches children to believe in something, to have imagination, along with other things like being kind and such. All in all, they're your children and that's your decision along with your SO or who ever.

In my opinion, imagination is a part of being a child. Kids need that stuff. It gives them hope in life. You don't tell a five year old how much your electric bill is because they are a kid. They should be making up stories, playing house and having fun. Don't ruin that for them. 
And I hope you will warn them not to convince other children these things aren't real as well. I would be upset if my child came home crying due to this.

It's all a personal preference. I personally want my kids to believe for as long as possible. I hope that it aids in fueling their imagination

It wouldn't be my choice. That was part of the fun for me as my kid. But you're completely entitled to feel differently. Do what's best for your abs your family!
