Endometriosis Stories?

I have been experiencing endometriosis symptoms for a while now. Which is very painful. I was wondering if anyone who has been diagnosed with endometriosis has some stories about how they found out and been diagnosed.

I might have endometriosis, but have not gotten an official diagnosis. My mom has it, though. She only found out because she had a weird looking ovarian cyst, which doctors ignored until she harassed them enough to get it looked at. Since it didn't look like a normal cyst doctors couldn't tell if it was just that or if it was cancer. She had surgery to get the ovary removed and tested. Thankfully not cancer, but they found out she had severe endometriosis and that's what caused the cyst in the first place. She was 46/47 when she found out.

My mom and her mom had endometriosis.  Then my mom just had a full hysterectomy in May this year. I know without the nexplanon I have I would be in a lot of pain and heavily bleeding for about 10 days so I probably do have it I've just never had a pelvic exam by a doctor before so I'm not sure I should go in sometime soon
