Induction vs natural?

Anyone ever had to be induced and also had a natural labor? What's the differences in everything and was the pain any different

I did my first 38 hours with no painkillers or induction meds. After that, they put me on pitocin, and it went from being strongly uncomfortable to agonizingly painful.

Was induced with all three of my babies epidural with the first two my last one was natural have to say that was a different experience doing it natural had an epsiodomy with all three of them too that wasn't too bad just had to be careful how I set had two stiches with everyone of them plus was sown back together down there but dont let me scare you everything will be fine

I naturally went into labor at 11 am. I was unsure that my water broke, so we took our time to pack for in case and drive there. Half way there, that's when I got contractions. It hurt, but was bearable. We arrived at 11:50 am, I told them everything so they took me to a room, hooked me up and checked to see if it was my water (it was). 6 hours later, after waiting and having contractions more and more, the pain was still tolerable, but it did hurt. They decided to give me pitocin to speed it up, as I was only 4 cm dilated. They put the needle in my wrist (it hurt more than contractions), they put me on an epidural (that hurt too, especially because they made me do it alone), and then gave me some. An hour passed and I pushed. Everything went smoothly, no cuts or tears or emergency c-sections. Completely different story for my sister though! She had over 40 stitches and did it all natural. My friend, I don't think they have her pitocin, she was fully dialated but had to have an emergency c-section. I think it depends on the person and the dr.

As a labor and delivery nurse I will say that no matter what you choose please educate yourself and choose what's best for you or your baby. As far as pain goes, waiting until labor starts on its own is less painful to most people than induced labor because labor naturally progresses in the intensity of contractions etc. Some people need to be induced for medical reasons and that's ok. I had to be induced with both my babies for severely bad preeclampsia. I want so badly to have the natural labor experience and go in on my own in labor. Talk with your doctor about it. Let him/her know your concerns about it. They should guide you on the best decision for you and your baby. Good luck and happy delivery!

I went into labor naturally with my first, my water broke at home. But after 3 hours of not progressing as quickly as they wanted but barely feeling anything, meaning I got to 2 centimeters, they put me on pitocin. Then shit got real. It was agonizing and after another 12 hours, I only got to 3 centimeters and wouldn't give me an epidural or any drugs until I got to 4. Which I never did and the baby's heart rate dropped so I ended up with an emergency c-section. Not everyone's story is like mine obviously.
