Constant cramping, but no contractions?

I am 39+3 weeks and have been cramping all night...like bad period cramps, not contractions. Did anyone have this before labor? It just made me so uncomfortable I'm in the tub at 3 am :(

This is what my contractions are feeling like I'm 39 and 4 and I've had them for the past 2 to 3 weeks they are just happening far more often and lasting longer now. Should mean u are dilating. I've never wanted to be in pain so badly in all my life ready to meet our princess :) ♡ . It is like the worst menstral cramp I have ever felt and sometimes they wrap around into my back last check I was 1 cm and 70% effaced

My water broke and then had menstrual like cramps for a couple hours before the heavy duty contractions kicked in. Sort of what I'm waiting to feel this time around too.

My contractions felt like period cramps - like the worst possible cramps. So you are probably having Braxton hicks contractions (or possibly real ones).

That's what my contractions were the first day of induction for me. In fact I finally asked for an epidural at like 2am because they were about 2 min apart but felt like bad menstrual cramps

That's how my contractions started when I was induced. They got stronger once my water broke. I never really felt it in my uterus after that, I had back labor and felt it all there. Hope this is the real deal for you! Good luck!
