What age is best to pierce baby ears?

This is not a debate and I don't want the answer "when they're old enough to decide" positive comments only please!!

I'm going to say "other". I did one of my daughters at 3 months and one at 15 months. I prefer the younger age because my oldest doesn't play with her earrings or take them out, but my toddler who got them done at 15 months will.

My daughter's pediatrician told me to get them pierced once she is 4.5 kgs (arnd 10lbs) cause she was born 5 weeks early and considered as a late premie baby And not to wait too long cause their pain tolerance reduces as they grow. She is 0.5 kgs away from getting them pierced 😁 I can't wait!!

My sister and I had I our ears pierced ar 3 months but my  LO pediatrician says he likes to wait until his patients have had their 6 month vaccine before piercing ears so we have to wait.

I think 2 weeks after their 1st vaccinations is technically safest. Other than that I think it depends on your baby. I had wanted to do my daughters after her 1st shots but she touches her face and pulls on her ears a lot so I didn't want to risk her pulling them out or getting an infection. My husband vetoed me anyway 🙄. I'll probably wait until she's 3 or 4 years old now. That's when I had mine done. My husband thinks 13 or 14, he's not winning that one.

I think as soon as their first round of vaccines are done! The earlier the better, because they heal better.
