Will my baby be ok?

I was talking to my midwife earlier, and she said she thinks I'll probably give birth around 25 - 26 weeks. If I do give birth that early will my baby be ok?

That's incredibly early. I would get a second opinion. A baby born that soon will spend a long time in NICU and there are a lot of potential complications.

I would honestly get a second opinion if anyone thinks this is going to happen than they should give you something so your babies lungs develop faster did she say why she thinks you will deliver early

25-26 weeks? Or 35-36 weeks. If a midwife told me 25-26 weeks I would be researching every hospital in the area to find one with the best NICU and I'd be switching to a doctor and not a midwife. If she was a good midwife she'd also be sending you to a maternal fetal medicine doctor.

Did she mention why she believes that? It's impossible to predict that. Babies lungs won't be fully developed at that point and it would be considered high risk. The baby would need a log nicu stay and a lot of medical interventions just to stay alive.

Are you having any complications? Or is your midwife just saying this because the size? Size doesn't matter at that stage all babies grow at different rates. And size has nothing to do with development. It is not possible to predict development. At 25-26 weeks your baby would need a lot of medical help to survive. And a long NICU stay. They say for premies to expect to stay in NICU until your due date or until you would have been 37 weeks. You could also be looking at lifelong effects of being a premie. Underdeveloped lungs, eyes, heart, etc. The longer your baby stays in you the better it's chances are.
