Austin people?

So we're going on holiday to Austin for 3 days soon! I'm very excited. I was wondering if you can give me a few recommendations, we'd like to go to a music venue that will have live shows midweek (no country music, I love it husband doesn't) and also if any of you know of any areas that has stunning views where we can park up and just look out to. Any help is appreciated! :)
