Thoughts on the depo shot? Is it good?

I'm not consistent enough to take pills and I don't want to rely on condoms. Comment the side effects and whether or not you'd recommend the shot! Thanks!

People on here tend to hate depo, but I was on it for 3 years and loved it. Yes, there are side effects they're required to warn you about, but that's with every medication. I didn't have any side effects, my periods were heavy at first but for the most part went away completely, I didn't gain any weight, it cleared up my skin, and It didn't cause osteoporosis. I loved it and after this baby comes im going back on it. That was another thing- I didn't have trouble getting pregnant after stopping. I say try it. If you hate it, it's out of your system in 3 months, and it's not like the implant or IUD where you have to have anything removed. You simply just don't get another shot. Highly recommended from person experience.

The depo shot actually weakens your bone mass my dr told me that so I got the implant

I absolutely hated the depo shot.. my only advice is, don't start depo unless you are a strict dieter. I gained so much weight..it changes your hornones and makes you crave food like all the time... i have switched bc methods.. and am happy i did. I got implanon, which is great also if youre worried about not remembering to take a pill, because its a one time thing and last three years. I highly recommend.
