Gender disappointment? Mom's with boys preferred 🙂

Question

Hello Ladies! I don't know what gender I'm having yet, but I'm a little worried about having a boy. I know the reason may sound dumb to some of you but I'm really concerned about not having any interest in the things a boy likes, or having anything in common with them for that matter. I'm not saying all this so anyone can yell at me to be happy to have a healthy baby. I am aware and I'm very happy and appreciative. I'm just curious to know what all you mammas with boys enjoy about having a boy. What has your experience been? How did you connect?

Honestly there's only one little boy who will completely steal your heart and that is your son. Don't get me wrong I love and adore my hubby but my son is my little bug and he just melts my heart. You'll adapt to play with a boy just as you would a girl. It comes natural to mamas I think

I had a boy and really wanted my second to be a girl, but another boy it was, i was a little disappointed at first. They're now 2 and 4 and I love having boys. They're both so sweet and adore their mommas. They're so playful and go with the flow and loving. Give them a ball and they're happy as can be. And they're now best friends and play together. I now have a third baby, girl, I'm crazy about her of course but all the girly stuff I'm actually finding annoying. Pink. Purple. Flowers. Hearts. Annoying princess motifs. She's awesome but the specific girl stuff isn't as exciting as I thought it would be. I keep looking for another color to put on her, maybe with some orange or a girly blue, can't find it. I actually cared less about the gender with my third than with my second because I liked having boys so much.  People thought I had a 3rd just to have a girl but it's actually not true!

I think all of these stereotypical ideas of boys is damaging to them, and to their relationships. Just like women saying they're scared of having a baby of one sex because they "heard they're so difficult", it's ridiculous to complain about a child when they're not even around. Just because he's a boy, doesn't mean he'll ONLY like cars and sports and the color blue- such an outdated/sexist expectation. My son loves all the things I like, the things my husband likes, and the things my daughters like. He loves cars, Legos, tractors, karate- your stereotypical "boy stuff" but he also loves musicals, dress up, playing baby dolls with my girls, having spa days, and dancing his butt off. I have an uncle who used to say, "You LET your son watch these shows, play with dolls, and carry around a purse when he plays! Do you want him to be gay?" Well, he's an ignorant asshole and my son is the most mellow, friendly, empathetic human being I've ever known. It's all about your parenting. If you let your child like lots of things, they will, and you won't have any trouble finding common ground.

My friends with boys love it. I am also expecting a boy. I was a little disappointed when I found out. But also all kids are pretty much the same at first. It's not like if you have a son he will be any different than a girl in his first years. You will give him the same toys and cuddles. And honestly I'm planning on giving my boy the same toys I would have given a girl. It doesn't matter the gender I want any of my children to have Legos and baby dolls. Their interests may differ at some point. But there is honestly no promise that if it is a girl she will be girly. One of my nieces plays soft ball and the other one does gymnastics one of them buzzed their heads over the summer the other is trying to grow her hair out so she can have a top knot. It's really just about personality. You will bond with your child no matter what their gender is. Love is love.

I have 2 boys (11 and 1) and am having my first girl this time. I know you think it's a big deal right now but when you meet your baby it won't matter you'll just love them and little boys love their mamas way more than their daddys trust me I have 2 cry babies up my butt 24/7 also I hate sports and going outside and all that crap and I was worried they would come out all girly but they are all boy they go outside and get dirty and play and do sports you don't have to like do any of that just let them do what they like to do and my 11 yr old can help clean the house, wash clothes and change diapers so having a girly mom wasn't so bad for him

Boys are so muchc better and more loving than girls. Im having a girl and i haveny bonded yet still cant buy her things cause im disappointed im,not having another boy,lol. My oldest is 11 and shes my only girl till BB gets here and the only way to put it is shes fuvking crazy! Lol hormones.

My boy is older now, but when theyre little, their interests arw pretty similar. Everything is new and interesting! Now that mine is older... some things we do together... Reading, hiking, basketball, traveling, learning, being engaged with school stuff... dessert dates. Mostly the same stuff I do with my daughter honestly. Admittedly I can't get him to go for a pedicure... but there's somethinf special about a parents relationship with each of their children. :)

I love our boy. He is precious. We are still in early elementary years but I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's rambunctious, filled with energy, silly, loving, kind hearted and "ALL BOY"! 
I promise that it will be the best. They sure love their mamas, too. 💙💙💙

I have three boys expecting my fourth baby not sure of gender yet. I want a girl of course but I love my boys. They are very caring they are momma boys and as a momma I learned to try to do thing my boys liked. And I find raising boys are a lot easier I have raised three nieces so have my share of both boy and girls. And I was the same way you are scared I wouldn't connect my boys wouldn't love me but guess what they would rather mommy be one there than daddy and even though they are boys they still are very sweet and caring and always there for me. Believe me your child will love and connect with you no matter what gender it is cause you will be the momma and the one giving them love and showing you there no matter what :) btw I have a 6 year old 4 year old and 7 month old all boys...

I feel you on this one. I'm still waiting to find out and really want a boy over a girl. I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. My reason for wanting a boy is im terrified to have a mini me. I was not an easy girl to have. Plus of some past experiences i just really dont want to have to worry about my baby going through what i did. At the same time I know once I see the baby I'll be happy to have any gender. Good luck !
