Low milk production!!! HELP!!
My baby girl is 6 weeks old! Bf was going great in the beginning no problems with latch I was producing plenty plenty! But little did I know how much work bf was especially if you're needing to go back to work!! Ok my story a few weeks after birth I start to pump at first it was just so the daddy could feed her to but I was producing more than my boobs could hold in between feedings so I started to pump and save well there were a few days were her belly was hurting andi didn't know that's what was wrong bc she was fussing and crying and I felt so bad so i figured she was still hungry. So there was one day where it was bad I just kept nursing her then my mom came over to check on us and see the baby and I explained my problems and she was like she's getting plenty to eat she's got a belly ache she's kicking her feet really hard. So she worked her legs and burped her and calmed her down and things got better but bc of that I was worried she want getting enough so we started a log and I started to pump and bottle feed her so I could see exactly how much she was getting. Things are going fine then I fall sick on a Saturday with an infection on the left side I felt ill with what get like the flu coming on but not knowing much about this I didn't think the two had anything to do with each other but it started off with my boob hurting and being real tender. Then later on Saturday I felt sick. Then come Monday I felt fine but my boob still hurt do I Google mastitis and then I realized that's what was wrong then my milk production just dropped hard... And I start to panic and here I am two weeks later and it's still not back up I'm taking fenugreek pills I'm nursing nursing and pumping. But I have three bags of frozen milk saved and this is my last week before I go back to work. Idk what to do. I even made lactation cookies which were delicious and I ate all of them! I'm drinking water as much as I can. I don't have access to filtered drinking water and I am not drinking tap water!! Idk what to do its jumped back up a little. But the best time for more to pump is in the middle of the night when my milk has a good few hours to fill back up. But that's after four to five hours of sleeping. I'm trying to be patient as I can but most feedings I have to nurse her on both sides. And if I'm able to I'll sometimes pump afterwards and get nothing. Or if she's napping I'll pump on both sides and get maybe 3 ounces... Four at THE most.. It's very upsetting. I'm hell bent on not going to formula. I will try everything I can to start my baby to the best healthy lifestyle that I can give her. Is there any of ladies that are or have gone through the same thing and have had success??? Sorry if it's so long!! And thank you so much if you read to the end!!! ❤️❤️
