Do you allow your baby to watch TV?

Question

I know there are so many studies about screen time, but unless you remove the TV from your home it seems almost impossible. My husband likes to watch the news in the morning and my LO is always so intrigued by the TV. Also, my babysitter will have on the Disney Channel while playing with my LO. I had plans to not let her watch TV until she was 2, but have failed. It makes me feel like I am a horrible mother because I gave in so easily.

I turn it on occasionally. She is fascinated by it. I mostly use it in the morning so I can distract her long enough to make a cup of coffee and grab breakfast.

My baby has been watching tv since she was a couple months old 😂 her show is Sofia the First. I don't really think it's a big deal. It buys me some time to clean, cook and shower. She loves all the songs they sing. A little tv isn't going to harm your baby. I wouldn't worry about it.

I try not to, but of course she does sometimes because its right there. Today my brother was holding her and he put a cartoon for her though, and instead she was looking at my dad talking to her. That made me happy lol. So as long as you dont turn the tv into a baby sitter i guess they are fine :)

My daughter watches it once in awhile. But she's a baby and has the attention span of an ant, so it's not very long. She's so easily distracted that it's not long before she's into something else. Yesterday I put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and she got sooo excited. Was pretty funny.

I grew up in a house where the TV was always on for noise. I don't like when it is too quiet.  So the tv is always on. I put on Disney Channel in the morning and come the afternoon, I put on talk shows. That's if we are home, though. We usually get out of the house a couple hours each day so he still gets plenty of non-screen time.

I try to keep the TV off as much as possible during the week when I'm home alone with her. I hate having a quiet house though, so I usually have music playing or I'm listening to an audiobook or a podcast. It's harder to keep the TV off during the weekend because my husband likes to have it on/play video games, but when the TV is on we try to keep her focus on her toys instead of the screen. It works about as well as you'd expect (which is to say not at all haha).

She watches when the family watches, which is a low to moderate amount. I felt bad at first but I really think that most things are okay in moderation.

I swore I wasn't going to have my daughter watching tv 🙄 how do you keep a curious kid from seeing the giant tv right in front of her while daddy plays video games?? You don't. I used her curiosity to my advantage for tummy time. I don't have the tv on during the day, unless I put on music, but now she's usually more interested in her toys.

My son is fascinated with sports like his daddy so we are usually watching some sort of game
