How to you all feel about your SO watching porn & masturbating to it?

My guy has no reason to watch it because he has me :) and in our relationship it's a big no no. I would not be okay with it.

I used to get super irritated about my bf masturbating to porn because in my mind I thought I was being replaced by it. He's explained to me that he's been doing it since he was 12 and that it's just a normal thing to do. He said that obviously I'm better, but sometimes he just wants to masturbate instead. Not only that, but that he doesn't get horny off of porn, he just has that "itch" feeling and uses porn as a visual and nothing more. I would mention how unrealistic it is & say I'll never look like the girls on porn, & he's always told me "exactly! They're unrealistic. Not real." He's also told me that sex isn't why we love each other or why we're in a relationship, that's it's just the cherry on the top. I honestly felt so much better after he said that. Was totally cool with it because it never interfered with our sex life and I thought he was like me and just used it as a sex visual to help get off to. That was until I found out he was jerking off to the idea of fucking those girls and then I got upset and when he didn't realize that there's a problem to jerking yourself off imagining another person or why that would make me mad we eventually broke up. It seemed like a dumb way to end a year and a half relationship but it was just all my insecure feeling piling up. I'm sure i won't mind the next boyfriend watching it though unless he thinks about it the same way.

I get the same way and he says it's just for release, nothing more. I asked "why can't you just do it without the porn?"
