Paw infection

shawn • Mom of 2. My family is everything.
So I made my cat a vet appointment because her paw ills hurting her. I looked at it to see what's wrong with it maybe a splinter or something got stuck in it. And it looked infected to me, she limps when she walks because it hurts. Her little paw is swollen and a couple of the pads that are bothering her are darker. Like a gray color instead of the whole pad being pink like they usually are. My question is how do they clean it out if it is an Infection? I have to drop off since that's the only thing they had available. And they don't need an xray do they? I assume they'd be able to do it with out an xray. Please Anything is welcomed. I just want to know how they clean it out.
