NEEEDDDDD advice

I need advice on wether or not I should text my recent ex telling him Goodluck on a big event we always talked about because it means the world to him. Idk if I should or shouldn't because I don't want him to think I'm chasing after him or finding any simple excuse to talk to him. I just wish I could be there with him to support him through it and celebrate this big event.
