Should women have a sick week from work during their menstural cycle and still get paid?

No that's crazy. I get some women have really bad periods so I think if they can have a medical excuse from a doctor that they are literally incapable of doing work then sure they can get some time off, but you should not be paid for it. That's literally 25% less time working then a man would do when periods really aren't that bad (unless you are one of the very few unlucky ladies who bleeds like you've got Niagra Falls between your legs). I think unless you are on a pain medication for your cramps that makes you physically or mentally unable to do your job then you need to suck it up and go to work.

I think if it was a thing, it should depend on the woman. I personally wouldn't need/want time off because my periods aren't bad. But when my friend is on her period, she throws up, can't walk from the pain, once she almost passed out getting out of bed to try going and having a bath, and she gets horrible headaches too

In the US employers must make reasonable accommodations for those with documented disabilities, which includes health issues like endometriosis. If they have a legitimate need for time off they deserve it, but to offer this to everyone with a vagina is ridiculous. The ADA is there to help those who really need help. Paid leave for periods would have to be offered by the company's choice, not the government's demand. But even then it doesn't make any sense.
