first period off the pill

This is my first cycle off the pill. I spotted for 3 days then a regular flow began. Before the pill I had a heavy flow but I don't remember so many clots. They aren't huge just seems like a lot more then I remember. Is this normal for a first cycle. If you include the spotting today is cycle day 6 .
