When you get a joint bank account together do you both get a debit card or will the bank only let one of you have one?

Me and my fiance want to get our bank accounts put together as one. I was wondering if when we do that are we both able to have our own debit card to the account or does the bank only allow one of you to have a debit card?

We dont have a joint account. He's the only one working so he's the only one with an account. I couldnt even tell you what bank he uses or how much our bills are. I dont even know how much he makes lol if i want or need something i just ask him for the money.
