How long does your baby nurse for?

My baby is 10 days old and I try to nurse him until he's full. But he'll suck forever! I also try to switch between breast. I'm doing about 30 minutes on each side, when I take him off one boob I see if I still have milk & its literally dripping out. But I feel like he's eating for a long time.. I'm an amateur breast feeder. Advice truly appreciated

As long as they want. It isn't just about food. It is for comfort as well. At that age they will cluster feed to establish your supply. So best advice. Stop looking at the clock and watch your baby for hunger cues and just feed baby on demand when they want it
 Baby will literally feel like they are attached to your boob 24/7 in the first weeks. Breastfeeding really is a pt job.

I didn't mean pumping as a machine I meant pumping out like producing so much. My friend breast fed her daughter & that's how she explained it to me. Forgive me for having my own opinion/advice when she asked for it

My milk doesnt come out fast enough for my little man. He latches for a few seconds then gets frustrated. So looks like im going to be an exclusively pumping momma.... here we go.

I used to let my son feed until he wanted to unlatch. Mind you it was hours of sitting there and little bits of spit up I believe that your baby will know when they're full and the worst that will come of it is some spit up. Just my opinion though.

I'm not sure on how long they're supposed to be on the boob but I did want to remind you baby's don't know when they're full, they will continue to eat. I would try maybe just 30 minutes. Cause that seems like she's eating too much from your post. I believe it's supposed to be 2-3 oz every 2 hours.

best advice I can give you is talk to a health nurse lots of times they have breast feeding consultants
