I've done both and believe me, rectally is 100x better! You literally pop it in and then you don't need to think about it again. Vaginally you need to constantly wear liners because it's always coming out of you. Plus I had to lay down 30 minutes after inserting vaginally, so the medicine could be absorbed, but there's no need to do that rectally!

Apparently it's leaks out from the front  (didn't leak for me out the back) and I've read a few people have had spotting from an irritated cervix.
