Put a water proof mattress cover on your bed, because your boobs will leak and sometimes the pads are tricky at night and also the when baby pees, poos, or spits up it's so much easier to clean. When your tired and it's the middle of the night you can just throw a towel over the wet spot and clean the sheets in the morning.

Take advantage of the mesh panties the hospital gives you, take all extra home.

Also clean out your hospital room, take home EVERYTHING extra that they offer. for you and baby.

Have a plan B set up for help in case you need a C-section. I ended up having a C-section unfortunately and I'm glad I had a plan. Have someone on standby that can help you, and everyone is always so glad to help immediately following the birth, but you also need help weeks 2-4...so space out your "helpers" accordingly. This applies even if you don't have a C-section.

Buy pads and wear them for a bit NOW to test for comfort...I HATED the ones I bought they were so uncomfortable and I was stuck with them.

Ask all the questions you can think of to the lactation consultant at the hospital!! And Join the Milky mamas breastfeeding support Facebook page (and similar pages) all the women have been great with offering support and advice, it's been a life saver. Also do sooo much research on breastfeeding, you never know what hurdles you may face and being prepared is crucial for your sanity and for the moments you may wanna give up, whether it's latching issues to supply issues...there is a solution for everything.
