Birth control

~ So I have question. I got off the depot shot after being on it for a year due to the unhealthy way it would make me feel. I switch to the pill which worked better for me. After 8 month of being on it I stop taking it. My question is how long till your period got back to its normal cycle after getting off birth control. I missed my period for almost 3 month and said not pregnant (blood tested) then I had a light period for 3 days and my normal cycle a week. Anyone else experience trouble getting back to normal cycle ?
