Getting rid of UTI's fast - does this work for anyone else?

Kobe
I used to get UTI's a lot as a kid, but when I got older they stopped happening as much.
My general rule of thumb is that if my pain is lasting more than two days despite home treatment I will go to the doctor. I don't like to take antibiotics if I don't have to, but UTI's can get serious if you ignore them.
The last two times I've gotten a UTI, I've been able to clear them up within 24 hours. Basically if I feel that painful sensation while peeing and feeling like I still have to go when I just went pee, I go to the store and get two jugs of 100% cranberry juice (do NOT get anything that says cocktail. It has too much sugar and not enough cranberry). I really really hate cranberry juice, but I chug that shit. I try to finish one jug of cranberry juice and at least one jug of water and keep peeing. Don't make yourself sick. If you start to get a tummy ache slow down with the drinking. Just make sure you're getting a bunch of fluids.
At first it feels like it's not working because it still fucking hurts when I pee, but usually after 8 hours or so I notice that I can sit around after peeing and actually feel like my bladder is empty. Then the pain gets a little less and then I sleep. Usually by morning the pain and urgency is gone. I always make sure to keep drinking a bunch of water and some cranberry juice for good measure over the next couple of days, but it always clears it out and the symptoms don't come back. Does this work for anyone else?
