when did you put baby's car seat in the car?

I want to put mine in now but I'm only 28 weeks and boyfriend says it will get smelly : dusty :s

You can put the base in but do not put the car seat in. If you are in an accident or someone else is while the car seat is in the car then you have to get a new one even if it seems undamaged. The car seat should not be in empty, only for the ride to the hospital :).

I wouldn't put it in until after 35/36 weeks, so if you were to have the baby it would actually be coming home with you vs staying in the Nicu.

(Not saying full term baby's can't end up in Nicu)
