Miserable pregnancy stories

Do people feel the need to share unsolicited miserable pregnancy stories with you? People just come up to me and start sharing the terrible things that have happened to them. A while ago this lady told me her daughter had a stroke and we have the same due date, then just now a woman just shared with me she had a miscarriage. Like... I'm 39 weeks pregnant I'm really not trying to hear about misery.
