not getting a positive until after AF is due?

AF is due tomorrow and usually I get light spotting the day before - don't have that today but I had a negative test (frer) this morning. Are there people out there who were in fact pregnant but didn't get a positive test until after their period was due? How long after? I'm on CD 25 and 12dpo.
