Pregnancy after depo?

Alright ladies, here's the scoop.

I was on depo shot from January 2016 until September of 2016. I wanted to ask my obgyn about returning to estrogen only birth control. (She said no BTW)

Anyhow, after I stopped the shot, I was waiting for my cycle to return. I went virtually period free since january.

My s/o and I have unprotected sex often. It's become such a habit and not a matter of worry that I don't even think about it most of the time. I know it usually takes women who've had the shot about 4-15 months on average to be able to conceive again.

My period is supposedly a few days away and I'm very nervous that it's not going to come. I have my new progesterone only pills waiting to take them, but I'm trying to convince myself that it takes 4+ months to achieve conception. I took 2 tests 7 and 4 days before anticipated AF day and they were negatives.

Does anyone have a depo-conception experience? Do I truly have anything to worry about? I'm ok with either outcome, just not knowing what to expect is killing me!!!!
