Acne & Birth Control

I want to start taking birth control so it can control my acne and also because I'm sexually active but I want to know if it's actually true does it treat acne? Because my acne is mainly hormonal (chin area) so I was looking for some advice or your stories that you'd like to share? Please and thank you!
