3 month old watching tv ?

Question

Every time i breastfeed my baby in the living room or in my room he turns around to where ever the tv is and sees it ! Same while we are laying down in bed and husband is watching vids on his phone, he turns to see and just stares at it..i turn him back so he wont see and he looks back...can babies watch tv !? Im guessing its bad since he is only 3months :/ .. opinions ?

I have 3 kids and I let them watch educational shows for babies like Daniel Tiger, the Baby First channel, or on YouTube Busy Beavers or ABCKIDTV. My sons both knew their ABC'S and phonics, shapes colors numbers etc before they were 2 yrs old and my oldest son who is 4 is reading and is socially fine at preschool (not hyper or antisocial). I don't let them watch all day and be couch potatoes or watch something overly stimulating, but from my experience TV did not negatively impact my kids and if anything was positive. I don't allow the TV on with them in the room for adult programs unless it's something harmless like HGTV, nothing violent and no local news about murder  etc.

In the mornings after her feeding, I put her in front of the tv in her swing and put on the little mermaid while I clean up for a bit. The whole time she's screaming and laughing, she loves it.  I've talked to her doctor about it and he says its stimulating her mind, and as long as the baby isn't in front of the tv all day then there's no problem.

My LO will gravitate towards it if it's on. I now leave it off while she's awake. The AAP recommendation is no screen time before 2 years. I think she can see the movement and colors and it fascinates her.

My three-month old loves watching t.v. whenever I need to get something done I'll turn it on the baby development channel. I don't think it's bad as long you limit it and do other things with them to balance it out like reading and tummy time.

I let him look at the tv if he's doing tummy time because it keeps him content. I figure it's ok if he's doing something productive haha

At 3 months they are attracted to the light of TVs and cell phones they do not really know what they are looking at.. it is best to limit how much they see the TV before 3 years old because it could effect their development according to some articles I have been reading

It's fine! From what I understand, screen time isn't acting damaging. It is just time taken away from interacting socially or practicing physical/mental development. As long as your baby gets plenty of that too, go ahead and let her look at the mesmerizing glowing box! I sure let mine when I need to get some stuff done.

I never monitor what's on the TV. I thought he was too young to know what's going on...
