how much milk?

Hi ladies,
I start work tomorrow and I am curious how much I should leave for my 1 month old daughter to eat? I have plenty of milk saved. But I honestly don't know how much she drinks from the breast. Should I estimate about 3-4 ounces per feeding? Let me know what you do? Thanks I greatly appreciate your help!

My five week old son eats about 4oz per feed. If you want to see how much your baby is eating you can weigh them before and after you feed them to see how much was eaten.

It's 1 to 1.5 ounces per hour that you will be away. It will always remain at that ratio as your milk will change to fit your baby's growth and needs.

You need to find out how often your provider plans to feed your baby so you can determine how many bottles you need. Start by making 2.5 ounce bottles for feeds every two hours. Provide some extra milk just in case. Don't let the provider empty the bottle after a feeding, that way you can see if there is any left over so you can adjust the bottle size.

Keep track over the next several days to figure out the optimal bottle size for your LO.

When my daughter was 1 month I estimated 1 - 1 1/2 ounce for each hour she hasn't eaten. So if she hasn't eaten for 3 hours she eats 3-4 1/2 ounces (most of the time 4 ounces).

I went back to work last week. My son was 7 weeks old. But he had been having a bottle each morning since he was about 3 weeks old. Since 3 weeks he would take 3 ounces at a time. Since I've been at work he takes 3 3-4 ounce bottles a day while I am away. His dr told us the amount he drinks at a time will stay roughly the same until about 4-6 months of age.
