is everything child abuse??

I have seen probably a dozen posts in the last few days asking "is this child abuse?"
Why do people consider everything child abuse these days?

Because we live in a society where people are SO overly sensitive and SO easily offended they feel that if they wouldn't do it it's automatically child abuse.

Do you know what I hate? People comparing situations and saying "well I had it worse so therefore yours isn't abuse" no abuse can be defined in many way. Stop comparing and realise non of it is okay.

Are you causing physical harm that isnt medically necessary? - Child Abuse

Are you withholding or unable to provide necessities such as food and water? - Neglect

So have I. It is beyond frustrating. I feel like people don't realize how serious that claim is. I have heard so many stories and seen so many children that are actually abused. These petty things that's people keep talking about don't even compare. I was almost in tears when I gave an example of real child abuse. It is no joke. These people might need to go to a shelter or group home that houses children that came from abused homes and ask them about their experiences. Nothing that these people are naming even compare to what those children have gone through.

Cultures are still adjusting to the understanding that children are people, not objects. People are slowly beginning to realise that they do not have the right to do whatever they want to their children. But this is a very slow transition so will inevitably cause a great deal of controversy for another few generations.

Someone told me I should have CPS called on me because I told them I'm not buying my baby anymore socks because she takes them off when we're out and throws them on the floor and I never notice till we get home. 
They said I'm neglecting my child essential clothing and she could get sick from the cold and die. 
I live in Texas .
It is fall and yesterday was 97 degrees . Texas doesn't get cold 😂. 
But yeah, people think any and everything is child abuse.

People think that they can call any method of parenting or parenting decisions that they disagree with child abuse, which is wrong. Abuse is a case by case situation and isn't a one size fits all statement to make about someone's parenting.

I agree and it irks me to the core. Being a foster child my self and being abused from as long as I can remember I can not stand post asking if piercing a child's ear is child abuse. I can't believe people really can't grasp the concept of true abuse 🙄
