Have such a long wait for first OB appointment

When I was 6 weeks from LMP and had known for 8 days I was pregnant I called to schedule my first OB appointment. I expected to get seen in the next week or so but they told me they don't schedule til at least week 10 because they want to be sure we'll be able to hear the heartbeat. At the time, because I'm a first time mama, I didn't realize that was so late. Looking on here now I see SO many 5, 6, 7, 8 week ultrasounds and it makes me feel so left behind and like I'm missing out on those keepsake ultrasound photos. :( Can anyone else relate or is it just the way the hospitals in my neck of the woods operate? I'm experiencing sore breasts, extreme fatigue, and no appetite but don't "feel" pregnant. I just want to see the little tyke on the screen so it'll sink it that I'm actually pregnant. I have been taking random PG tests to be sure they still say positive yet I forget I even am sometimes! It just doesn't seem real.
