TTC question

My husband and I have been TTC for a while now and did one round of chlomid in August. When on chlomid I had a 34 day cycle. I normally have a 40 day cycle. I had a positive ovulation but didn't conceive.  We decided not go back to that particular Doctor so I didn't do another month of chlomid, but my cycle has been very strange. At day 26 I had a brownish pinkish spotting (didn't even need a pad or anything it was so light). I was supposed to start my period on day 41 which was 4 days ago. I am peeing a lot, my nipples are sore(usually before AF it's my breasts not nipples), and I'm always hungry (these were all the symptoms I had with my first born). I took a test today and it said negative, so I'm not sure what to think. I checked online at a due date calculator and it said I shouldn't expect to see a positive until November 4th, which is Thursday. Has anyone else had a negative after being 4 days late and found out they actually were pregnant?
