Loud noise at work

So this is kind of a random question but haven't really thought about this being a problem until now. I work in metal stamping and some of our steel is pretty thick, but for the most part, it's not thick enough to produce a super loud thud as it stamps/cuts the steel....except for tonite. I'm even having a hard time with it wearing my ear plugs and noticed that baby is turning like crazy, almost like she's trying to escape it. I'm not regularly exposed to this level of noise but I'm almost wondering if I should ask to run a different job. Thoughts? Should I be concerned?
