Baby's arms straight or bent in swaddle?

Question

Happiest baby on the block advocates straight for tight swaddle, my midwife is insisting bent is better... any mom's with experience or info?

If or when I swaddle my baby, we have always kept his arms out so he can move them. Something about having them restrained like that, I don't like.

I've done both. I started straight but then my LO started to suck on her hand so I bent them so her hands reached her mouth. 
Eventually we ended up with arms out and now at 8 weeks we are at no swaddle.
Swaddling is great as it means you both get a little sleep however I suggest weaning baby away from swaddling before they roll. Otherwise it could be a nightmare getting them to sleep without it.

I don't have firsthand experience but my doula told me straight, it prevents their startle reflex or something?
