choking while feeding?

Does anyone else's little one almost choke while eating? Whether it's from a bottle or me nursing her, it's almost like she gets too excited and forgets to breathe?

Yeah I was freaking out too! But her doctor said it was perfectly normal :)

Yes! I freak out almost everytime she chokes.  She goes a little limp everytime and it scares me to death.  After i burp her she is okay again.  Ive been using slow flow nipples to prevent it.

Yep she does while BF and when my boyfriend was giving her a bottle, it freaked him out a lot!

That can be from a fast let down as well as the bottle flow being too fast.

Try and sit your little one up when bottle feeding and if you notice her choking or gulping for air while nursing unlatch her for a minute.

It is normal for them to stop breathing while eating occasionally--they are still developing co2 sensors to remind them to breathe. If you pay attention you'll notice it happening other times too. This totally freaked me out when I noticed it but the pediatrician explained and now I don't worry about it so much.
