Cold or teething?

I am a Ftm with a 15w son. I can see 2 teeth but they have really been taking their time advancing to cut through. I just started developing a cold yesterday. He's a huge cuddle bug and mainly with me. (Kind of annoys people even though they understand, they will not be able to get him to calm down and hand him to me. He'll almost immediately cuddle in with his head by my chest and calm down). He has been coughing on drool now and then and his eyes have watered and gotten red and puffy Every now and then. Yesterday he was super fussy and the day before his eye were very runny and puffy (about half the day total). He hasn't had a fever, but I only ever have gotten fevers when I've been very sick...only had a mild one of 99℉ when I had bronchitis. I know it's probably inevitable that I'm going to pass it to him, so how can I tell the difference?
