what are your work schedules like?

Hey ladies! I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I need to ask for less hours at work after my daughter is born. I am a young 2's assistant teacher at a daycare. It's a very taxing job, I go in at 7:30 to 1:30 with a 2 hour break then I go back in from 3:30-5:30. There's no sign of that changing. Granted I do know I could go spend some time with her on my break but I feel like it's going to be tough constantly having to leave her like that and I know it would make her upset each time I left. My fiancé's mom has agreed to keep her and it's about 20 minutes away from work, plus my needing to eat something. I'm just wondering if I would be better off just asking for less hours at work so I don't miss so much time with my daughter, especially the first year of her life. Any advice or opinions? Financially my fiancé and I can handle my less hours, but I'm also curious to know if other mommies have crazy schedules where they will spend a lot of time away from their children and how they plan on handling the situation?
