acrylic nails?

Random question but is it a good or bad idea to get acrylic nails done before due date? I'm due 14 Nov

I wouldn't, don't want to poke or scratch the baby or get poop underneath your nails (yes that happens)

If your going to get them short, yes. Trust me its so hard to change a baby and all that. I have them on right now. But I plan to get them off before baby comes.

Usually when you go in they monitor some things with a finger test which acrylic nails would make that difficult to do. Also you raise risks of infections because acrylics do hold bacteria a lot more than natural nails do. I would just get a cute mani and stay natural!  😊

I just took mine off and am opting for shellac until after he arrives...the only reason is because I know when people have surgery they have to take them off for the monitor they put on your finger. I'm just doing it in case I have to have a c-section for some reason. But, I don't know if it even matters for a c-section...I'm not sure they even do the same montioring based on not being put out all the way. Again, just something I chose based on a scenario that probably won't even play out or might not even be necessary. 😂😂😂 I just had this horrible image in my head of needing an emergency c-section and them having to rip one of my nails off. Obviously, I'm narotic and possibly over-thinking the situation. But I've been getting acrylics done my entire pregnancy with zero issues.

I always have them. Had them w my newborn last October and have them now with
My daughter coming Tuesday. Never had an issue w fecal matter under my nails either. Or scratching. I keep them shorter and it never scratched my son.

So the only reason I had mine removed was because my mom and both my aunt's said you get poop under them sometimes when changing a diaper.

I have long acrylics. Have had them my whole pregnancy and I still do. I was due yesterday & everyone keeps asking if i'm going to cut them but I dont plan to. Just hope they dont get in the way... we shall see:)

I just got a nice paint job with gel so that they will last about 3 weeks!

I had them with both my daughters and will have them with this one. They don't get in the way, I've never poked my baby or got poop under them (washing hands is important with or without nails) since your not use to them getting them short would probably be a good idea.
