Do you think it's weird when parents kiss their children on the lips?

Just curious as to what people think. My parents never kissed me on the lips. So when I was in high school I went over one of my girl friends houses and her dad kissed her and all of her sisters on the lips (13-19yrs old) and then her mom. I was thrown off by it.

I understand that to other people it's fine, and I would never think badly about a parent who does it, I understand it isn't sexual or in appropriate. However my parents never kissed me on the lips, ever. Actually I can't remember even kissing on the cheek with either of my parents. They weren't unloving or anything, just kissing has always been framed as a romantic/ sexual form of affection to me. I will be as physically loving towards my babies as I feel comfortable to do so, but can't imagine ever kissing on the lips with them. Especially not when they are old enough to talk and walk around, etc.

My friend is 29 and she still kisses her dad on the lips. It weirds me out.

I think when they're small it's fine but when they get bigger it looks odd to other people. My son is 3 almost 4 and I kiss him but I'm not to sure when to stop and keep it strictly cheek.

My mom always kissed me on the corner of my lips or cheek. Not my brother that I can remember or know of...they didn't embrace often though either as he was into his "cool" teen years when she passed.

I think it's weird.  My bf whole family kisses on the lips.  Mom,  Nana,  aunts.  They try to kiss me on the lips and I always have to actively remember to turn my head to avoid it.  I probably wouldn't think it was weird if I grew up that way but I did not and it's definitely not my thing.  My bf aunt kissed her newborn grandson on the lips and I thought that was even weird.  I mean,  it's whatever, it just seems so unnecessary.

Ugh, I've never liked it, only my mom did it with me, and I remember being ~5 years old and hating it. She still goes for lips and I'm 32 years old and now also goes for my husband's lips. I know for her it's just an expression of motherly affection, but it's not my bag. Maybe I'll feel differently when my kid is born, but I think I'll stick mostly to cheeks, foreheads, hands, feet, etc...
It's a personal preference and I think it's just important to listen to your kids and give them a choice/bodily autonomy and never force the issue.

I always did when I was younger but I phased it out when I turned 16 and had my first boyfriend. I started to just turn my head a bit and place the kiss on the cheek instead.

I still kiss my mom on the lips but I don't kiss my dad hardly at all, if I do it's always on the cheek. I think it depends on the relationship but I don't see a problem.. my opinion is if you have a problem then that's YOUR issue lol
