Will I get an Ultrasound at 6 weeks?

Question

I'm going to my first dr appointment on Friday, and I will be 6 weeks 2 days. The receptionist said they "probably" won't do an ultrasound that early ... but now I'm seeing people posting ultrasounds from 6 weeks. If we are going to see the baby and possibly hear the heartbeat, I want my husband to come. However, if they aren't, he won't miss work for the appointment. We are trying to find that balance ...
What have your experiences been with going to the doctor at 6 weeks?

My Dr got me a dating scan at 6wks and I was 6+1.

My doctor office usually schedules the ultrasound before the appointment with the doctor. I had my first appt yesterday at 7w4d and had a sonogram done. My office won't do anything. Before "8" weeks because you might not be able to see anything. I didn't know when my last period was so that's why I had an ultrasound. They were able to see the baby and heart beat.

When I found out I was pregnant I was 5 weeks and the lady did an ultrasound

I went to the doctor on Friday at 6 weeks and 4 days and they did not give me an ultrasound that day. They said they wait until 7 weeks so they can hear the heartbeat better. So next Friday I will go again to see and hear my baby! Thank you for responses. 😊

We did not get an ultrasound from our doctor that early. I won't get one until 11 weeks (this Thursday!!!).

I got one and go for another at 8 weeks but I see a high risk doctor

Depends on your doctor. I'm 10 weeks and I had my first appt at 8 weeks but I don't get to hear the heartbeat till 12 weeks and maybe get a ultrasound then too but not sure if they will or not.  Just call again and ask.

This is my 6w2d ultrasound. You can'thear the heartbeat just see the heartbeat. I think the only reason why I got to do that is because I go to a fertility specialist.

You most likely won't hear a heart beat until 6 to 8 weeks but will see the baby.  But you never know anything is possible
