Not sure if I'm pregnant

I'm late on my period, and I was ovulating about 3 weeks ago. And I took a test Sunday but it came back negative. could the test be wrong? and my lvls not be high enough. I had a miscarriage last year in October. My fiancé and I are trying for a baby. Any advice or ideas?
