Feeling frustrated

So yesterday was 9 dpo and i had some mild cramping going on most of the day. Tonight I just couldn't resist taking a pt. It was negative. Please tell me 10 dpo is too early. And I'm hoping the cramping I felt yesterday was implantation. AF is 4 days away. Is there still hope?
