Should A Non Christian Work At A Christian Daycare?

Question

Do you think it's alright for a non Christian to work at a Christian daycare center? I saw an ad in my local paper today for a job at one. I'm not a Christian, so I was just wondering others' thoughts? I have extensive (8 or 9 years) experience with childcare so I would definitely qualify for the job but I've never been in a Christian daycare, do they do a lot of stuff with religion?

As long as they aren't spreading non Christian views to others in the building (children) then I don't see an issue. If they were showing their own views then no. The mothers/fathers sent them to a Christian daycare for a reason.

It really depends on the exact place. Some Christian organizations are pretty chill and will have kids sing about loving Jesus ect, but won't care what you believe as long as you participate, and are good at your job.

Others are more…zealous. They start very young teaching kids about the horrors of non Christians, science, and anything fun. It's best to look into the denomination first.

As far as ethics, it's a personal choice, you'll have to decide if you are comfortable teaching things you may not personally believe.

I say no. Religious daycares usually do bible studies and things like that and kids can sense whether you actually believe what you're teaching or not. Just find a regular daycare.

It depends on how the church views it. I'm Christian and my old church allowed non-Christians to help/work there as long as they weren't trying to bash our religion or didn't try to spread hate to the people of the church

I'm Jewish and work at a Christian private k-12 school :) I am professional and religion isn't brought up.

My son goes to a little Christian school. Some of their coloring pages a religious and they do mass on Thursday but that's about it.

I went to a Christian school from K-8 and then a Catholic high school. My parents are Buddist... Also when I was in high school, I had plenty of teachers who were not religious.

I used to work at a Christian nursing home. I worked with CNAs there that weren't religious at all but they just treated the residents religious views with respect and did whatever they needed. I think that's all that matters that you respect others and do what is asked of you in your job.

It depends on if you're comfortable working in that environment and are willing to teach to that population. Some places will specify you muclst be (i.e. teaching in a Catholic school you usually have to be catholic) but general Christian I think it just depends.
