wanting to give back this holiday season!
I live in Milwaukee and homelessness is on a rise sadly. I've been wanting to do this for a while but I'm finally going to go through with it.
I want to have an event where homeless people (the first 100) can come and get fresh fruit, water, blankets, hats, lotion/chapstick, lady products, gloves and some hot cocoa and I'll be asking my girlfriends who cut hair to donate their services for a few hours and get everyone looking nice and trimmed.
I've reached out to Milwaukee county and a few churches about hosting the event somewhere and I plan to take donations for items like hats and gloves and blankets and donations of money for things like feminine products and socks. I also plan to reach out to local business about donating slightly older food or hot chocolate etc.
So what do I do now? Post fliers, go door to door. How would you want to help an event like this. I need volunteers. Donations and money. Thank you all for your suggestions!

I really hate that I said only the first 100 people I wish I could help them all but this is my first time and I just don't know if that will be possible. I was disheartened at first when my husband said I can't help all 8,000 of the homeless people in our city but then I read that mother Teresa said
"If you can't feed 50 hungry mouths then just feed one"
