Need advice

My whatever you want to call him keeps telling me let's try and work it out

How the h@#$ am I supposed to do that when he calls me names like you dumb ass and stuff a long that line and then he tell me let's work it out am I'm standing my ground and keep telling him it just not going to happen were never going to work so now I'm saving money to get my own place for me and my boys and No they are not his and their real dad is not in their life as well ..... I'm just lost at what to do to let him know I'm not going to put up with his anger issues any longer ...... Sorry it's so long
