How long do you breast feed for?

I'm curious (FTM) how long you're supposed to/you chose to Breat feed your baby until you stop/they're too old. And what age to you believe is pushing it and too old to still be breast feeding? I see some mommies that do until 1 year and others until 2 years, so I'm curious!:) no judgment !

One year is recommended and after that they can have cows milk or water. There's nothing wrong with breastfeeding longer if you choose just make sure they're eating normal meals as well.

The AAP recommenda at least up to a year and the they give mothers the choice when to stop. The World health organization says at least 2 years and beyond if wanted.
I go with the AAP because WHO focuses a lot on countries with low resources where children may not be having adequate access to proper nutrition so they may benefit from longer breastfeeding.

I planned to wean #1 at one year. At that point, he was only nursing once a day before bed. I was busy with a work project so wasn't ready for it. He self weaned at 15 months. Just fell asleep one day without milk and continued that way.

I'm stopping at one year.

Some people go until baby wants to stop, or even goes until the child is in school. To each their own but with my personal feelings on it I'm stopping at a year.
