I read in the middle, I think it said it is 47% safer. But I put it in the middle and it was so wobbly and that obviously doesn't seem safe so I put it on the side and it's not wiggly. I think it's because of my car... but it bothers me because 47 % is a lot safer!

The middle spot is the safest, but actually the real safest spot is where ever you get the best installation. So if it's tighter on the sides, that will be safer. I can give you one little pointer, and maybe you can try again and see if it works… When you are installing in the center, or any seat for that matter, put your knee in the seat and put all of your weight on it while you are tightening the belt.

I will put my 2 year old behind drivers seat and new baby behind passenger seat. I don't have the latch system in my car unfortunately:(

I had gone to CHP which is california highway patrol and they told me my passenger side is the best and safest spot for a rear facing seat . You car seat shouldnt touch the back of any seats , which in my case the middle wouldve had both front seats agaisnt the back of my carrier

I've read that middle is beat, but check with your vehicle manual.  Our specific vehicle says not to put it in the middle.

My car has a latch for car seats behind the drivers seat and passengers seat. My friends step dad is a firefighter and they do regular car seat inspections and he's told me in the past that behind the driver or in the middle is safest because in most car collisions, the car gets his from the passengers side

Ours is installed behind the passenger seat (in both vehicles)... our base is made to be latched and has a last leg;  neither of which work in our middle seats!

I was told in the middle is the safest place for a Car Seat. My car has three hooks at the top and also has the latches for car seats in the actual creases of the seats.

However the unfortunate scenario is now that I'm going to have another baby it's going to be harder. My son is 3 and will sit on the passenger side of the car and I'll most likely put the little Car Seat in the middle...

Just for my piece of my so in the event if I ever needed to snatch my kids out the car I can.

We couldn't put ours in the middle either. The middle seat seems to have a little curve to it. Even when we pushed weight onto the seat and used the latch system (rear facing) it was still loose. We ended up putting it on the side. It was much more secure.

Are you using the latch system? That will make it very tight. If your car doesn't have a latch system (mine doesn't), then it has a tether anchor like this: 
If you're using that, it shouldn't wobble! If it does, I'd take it to the fire station to get checked out.

The safest spot is the middle.
