TMI- Start of bloody show or mucus plug slowly coming?

Hey ladies. This morning at 530 I went to the bathroom and wiped and it was kind of bloody and mucus-y. (Light pink) same for each bathroom trip up until about noon, then nothing. I called midwife and she said it sounds like the start of the bloody show which means early labor *I'm 40 weeks so finally, lol* but since it stopped completely and never got super bloody, just a light pink, is it possible it wasnt and I was just losing pieces of mucus plug? *there wasnt too much mucus though, mainly discharge an pieces of mucus*
