Posts about dilation and 'dropped'

I've seen so many posts about being dilated. I don't know whether I am dilated as my midwife does check at appointments and have been told that it doesn't indicated when your going to go into labour and whether you have dropped or not doesn't indicated labour also as that can happen once in labour. all I'm hoping for is my contactions to start and not worry about dilation or whether you've dropped :)
