My OB told me it helps to prevent preterm labor if you go to the dentist and take care of your teeth/gums while pregnant

Yes it's safe. I'm a registered dental assistant and we see pregnant ladies a lot. I had a filling done while pregnant. Let them know you're pregnant so they take extra precaution if X-rays are needed, etc. if you're high risk, I'd check with your dr but it's safe to see the dentist.

Highly suggested to go to dentist when pregnant. We're more prone to bleeding and cavities. They can fill them as long as you're out of first trimester and of course inform them you are expecting! 😊

I go to the dentist for my normal 6 month cleanings. They just don't do X-rays. My dr did tell me I needed a note from my obgyn stating it was fine to have work done if I needed it. I did have my wisdom teeth pulled with my daughter. Obviously I couldn't have good pain meds, just Novocain, but it wasn't bad for me. It's recommended to go to the dentist while pregnant because your teeth can actually cause issues with pregnancy.
